This competition winning proposal reimagines the old Fafet block — 120 homes over five floors — destroyed earlier in the year. Lafayette designed a mixed-use neighborhood in harmony with the existing landscape. The new design creates pedestrian-friendly streets with easy access to amenities. The project destroyed no trees, parceled large bare plots into smaller, more manageable gardens that residents could enjoy, and integrated existing vegetation into shared or private green spaces.
